The Bear Enters 2022!

Posted by Christopher Myers on

Happy New Year everyone and we hope your holiday season was a good one. We have been working tirelessly on our end and we have a few things we would like to announce.

New Supplier

Our search for a supplier has taken us on a wild goose chase and it has been a difficult road finding one that could meet our pricing needs along with providing a quality product. Unfortunately, we could not find a supplier State-side that was able to meet our pricing and quality criteria which means we will be at the mercy of inbound port congestion again but we are happy to announce we have found one. As a matter of fact, throughout the month of January we have been prototyping with them and are very satisfied with their craftsmanship. This leads into the next major announcement - new acrylic cases!

Bearish Acrylic Cases v2.0, New Designs, and Pricing Restructure

When we receive our next round of prototypes (which are actually final samples), we will have a total of SEVEN products to offer to the market. After our discovery back in October and the challenges of finding a supplier, we are happy to announce we will be supporting all Made in Japan products. The products coming down the pipe are:

Booster Box Cases (MSRP: $24.99)
- Flesh and Blood Base Set 'Made in Belgium'

- Flesh and Blood Supplement Set 'Made in Belgium'
- Flesh and Blood Base Set 'Made in Japan'
- Flesh and Blood Supplement Set 'Made in Japan'

Carton Box Cases (MSRP: $49.99)
- Flesh and Blood Base Set Carton 'Made in Japan'
- Flesh and Blood Supplement Set Carton 'Made in Japan'
- Flesh and Blood Base Set Carton 'Made in Belgium'

*** IF ANYONE DESIRES TO PURCHASE 20 OR MORE CARTON CASES FROM US, PLEASE LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE SO WE CAN INCREASE OUR ORDER SIZE. WE INTEND TO ONLY HOLD A FEW OF THESE IN STOCK AT ANY GIVEN TIME. ***

You will notice that both Base Set and Supplement Set 'Made in Belgium' products are being offered. This is a redesigned acrylic case of our v1.0 designs and will feature a sliding pane that is flush with the bottom lip of the case when slid into place. We are also working towards creating a carton case for Supplement Set 'Made in Belgium' products as well. We do not personally own a carton of CRU 1st Edition but we will have a case of Everfest 1st Edition coming our way. With this case in hand, we will speak with our network of FAB Friends to determine if the cartons from CRU and Everfest match in size.

Also as a little bit of savings coupled with Everfest's launch, we will be permanently matching the price of our Supplement Set Cases to match the cost of the Base Set Cases effective 1/12/2022.

Product Packaging and Distribution Network

Another very exciting announcement is that we have completely redesigned our product packaging. Instead of a simple white cardboard box with the Bearish logo on the top, our new boxes will feature a complete overhaul to their look. We are looking forward to showcasing these completed designs when our final samples arrive.

These new product packaging and v2.0 designs are in preparation for talks with some leading distributors in the TCG/CCG space. We have received quite a bit of interest from certain parties and if all talks go well, you may start seeing us pop up in an LGS near you (and also in other countries)!

Wrap-Up and The Future

Hope you found all of this information just as exciting as we do! You may have noticed we have officially rebranded the website as well. We are no longer BearishBooks.com (a name tied to our book-selling endeavor) but instead we are now appropriately named BearishCases.com. Our support email address has also changed to support@bearishcases.com so please use this method of communication to reach out to us going forward.

Q3 and Q4 Teaser - We are in the development stages of supporting both Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon. By the end of the year, we want to at the very least be producing cases for Modern Draft Booster Boxes and Collector Booster Boxes for MTG and for Modern Booster Boxes and Elite Trainer Boxes for Pokémon. We do have mock-ups completed for Metazoo and additional Pokémon products, but our primary focus will be to launch the most popular cases in the other two leading TCGs.
